Welcome to Eddie’s!

EDDIE’S FOOD & DRINK will make its home in San Luis, Arizona, nestled within the nexus of Arizona, Mexico and California. Owing to its fertile soil and year round sun, Yuma County (which includes San Luis) produces nearly 90% of America’s leafy vegetables from November thru March. It is this agricultural tradition that is fueling Yuma’s – and San Luis’s – explosive population growth.

EDDIE’S is inspired by its namesake, citrus rancher and entrepreneur Eddie Loo, of Yuma, Arizona. Four generations of the Loo Family were raised in Yuma, beginning with Charlie Sam in the 1890’s. His son, Sam Loo, opened Yuma Grocery on W 3rd Street and served the Yuma community until the 1970’s. When Eddie arrived from China in 1948, he would hurry home after school and work for his father Sam at Yuma Grocery. It was at Yuma Grocery that Eddie first developed a love for food and cooking. Later, Eddie would become a CPA, an entrepreneur, and a citrus farmer in what is now east San Luis.

In his spirit, we are pleased to open EDDIE’S FOOD & DRINK.
